The OIDA is a memory book.

Personal documentation illustrates your own history.

oida is a Greek verb meaning I have seen, I know.

Personal documentation makes your own successes visible

The OIDA is arranged in such a way that you review your actions by specified time slots. By taking notes you will value what is really important for you – the essence.

The OIDA fits to many humans.
For apprentices, students, trainees, executives, founders, beginners, pregnant women, career starter — For a reboot, the first management position, an internship, for the social rehabilitation, for the terminal care, the first project, for a year of training.

The OIDA – this book makes the difference

You are invited to start on page 70. By taking notes you move from the bottom to the top of each page and from the last page to the front page. Hence, when you read your book in the usual way the current record is on the top.

Use the OIDA to consciously experience one year. Important things stay. Even simple moments in life get their attention and thus give completely new insights into life.

Experiencing, contemplating and forming essences

Depending on one’s habit results, photos, information, appointments, phone calls, etc. are recorded, often even only mentally. During visits, at work, during an inspiring conversation – in the middle of life you cannot take any note while doing the deed. When work is done, you can take your time for reflection.

Methods for writing essences

How to make essences is explained in the book and in the Blog (in German).

For the time being: At the end of the day one extracts their relevant results from their work. One writes down the important memories in the Essence of the Day, in reverse order.
At the end of the week highlight those essences that are still relevant and literally copy them into the Essence of the Week.
Based on that one can build the Essence of the Month, of the Quarter and of the Year.

The Oida and its author

Stefan Vetter. Variegator of memories.

I developed The OIDA as a work diary for trainees.
I myself started to regularly evaluate my notes in 2008. For many months this became a daily — handwritten — exercise.
The idea to make The OIDA out of these experiences arose at the kitchen window when I showed a work diary to one of my children. „This you have to publish, Papi!“ A year later the goal was achieved.

The book costs 25,– Euro incl. VAT. You can order free of postage, and the book is immediately available via the publisher Book on Demand. Look inside! For the time being only the German version Das OIDA is available.
